High court has denied giving stay to its order related to Margao carnival matter. High Court has observed that the matter need to be considered and has scheduled the matter hearing for Monday. Margao Parade will be now held as per Collector’s order that is at Fatorda. Meanwhile, Goa Forward Party has filed complaint regarding violation of model code of conduct by Margao Carnival Committee as they hves released advertisements regarding flagging off of Float Parade at the hands of Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister & Cabinet Ministers. The complaint has been with South Goa Collector.
Earlier State Election Commission had issued letter to Director, Tourism asking that no political functionary should inaugurate or deliver speech at Official Carnival Float Parades in the state of Goa.
However, both Deputy Chief Ministers Babu Azgaonkar and Babu Kavlekar were present for the Margao Carnival Parade.
