Sophia Summer Session in East Asian Studies and Japanese Language | Student Voice 1

The Summer Session is a three-week academic program, and it provides participants with the opportunity to take part in East Asian Studies courses and an intensive Japanese language courses.


This is an excellent opportunity that Japanese students and international students from abroad to gather, study, discuss, and reflect on Japan’s role as a member of East Asia in the world. Since its foundation in 1961, over 11,000 students have joined it and explored Japanese culture and society, and developed lasting friendships with fellow students from all over the world.　



サマーセッションは、毎年6~7月に行われる海外留学生向けのプログラムで、1961年の開講以来、11,000人を超える留学生を受け入れています。プログラム参加者は、3週間集中的に、東アジア研究コースまたは集中日本語コースを学ぶことができます。また教室での授業のほか、無料または小額の参加費で参加できる様々な文化体験も用意されています。


東アジア研究コースには、日本人学生と海外からの留学生が集まり、世界の東アジアの一員としての日本の役割を議論し、学べる絶好の機会です。また集中日本語コースでは、初級から上級まで4つのレベルを開講しており、自分のレベルにあった勉強ができます。
