DP WILLIAM RUTO GIVES A HARSH SPEECH IN KENEI FUNERAL, DARES THE KILLERS TO KILL HIM AND SHEDS TEARS Deputy President William Ruto stole the show during the burial of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei in Solai, Nakuru county with an emotional speech in which he made two promises to the family of the deceased.

Addressing mourners at the event,the Deputy President accused individuals who he did not name of hatching a plot to sow seeds of discord between him and the community and called for speedy investigations into the Kenei’s death.

“I am the deputy president of Kenya, I am not a mad man. I know what I am saying. Kwa hivyo kwa wale wanapanga hizi njama eti watanipiganisha na jamii yangu, shauri yao.

Ruto vowed to stand with the family and expressed his condolences, stating that it was unfortunate that Kenei had to pay with his life.

“I want to tell you (Kenei’s father), do not worry. We shall support one another and I will stand with you to ensure that you are not denied your rights. We will support you in the education and managing Kenei’s family, me personally and of course the government of Kenya.

“Poleni that this young man had to pay the ultimate price”. Added DP Ruto.

DP's last meeting with Kenei

The DP however did not stay to the end of the event as he excused himself and left the funeral for an event in Meru.The DP eulogized the deceased a a hard-working young man who was dedicated to his duties and recalled their last meeting days after the fake arms scandal came to light.

"We met on Monday of the week that he was found murdered. On that day, I summoned the head of security as well as the person in charge of escort in that office when I arrived at the office.

"The two came into my office and I wanted to know what had taken place on the previous Thursday because that Monday was my first day at the office (since the controversial Echesa meeting reportedly took place)" stated the DP.
