Another big misconception in golf instruction is the correlation between weight location and angle of attack. Angle of attack is the direction the club head is moving vertically (up (+) or down (-)) at impact. Yes, being with both centers in front of the ball gives you the „potential“ to create a downward strike, but there are so many variables and motions that have to be taken into account, that actually can create the exact opposite.
Being on the lead side with all your weight and hitting up on it is absolutely possible. And to be honest, I feel going through drills with having the weight like 90% on the lead foot can encourage some very good stuff. Especially for beginners. Following I am gonna enumerate potential influential factors that would shallow the strike while I try to set up with around 80-90% weight on the lead side. Please note, that the description takes into account every potential shallowing piece,no matter if it is functional or not
