Ten Reasons Why I Love Liverpool FC
10. Bill Shankly
What a legend. A man single-handedly transforming a club from Second Division also-rans to First Division champions is something that is never likely to happen in today's game.
9. History

People keep saying that Liverpool fans live in the past, but what a past! Between 1964 and 1990, The Reds won 13 League championships, four FA Cups, four League Cups, 2 UEFA Cups, four European Cups and one Super Cup. There were great games, great managers, and even greater players: Callaghan, Yeats, Heighway, Souness, Dalglish, Keegan, Toshack, Smith, Ray Kennedy, Hunt, McDermott, Case, Alan Kennedy, Fairclough, Barnes, Beardsley, Aldridge and of course...Ian Rush.

8. Resurgence

There is no doubt that Liverpool have successfully pulled themselves out of the doom and gloom of the 1990s. Gerard Houllier started it all off, and since his reign the new generation of Reds have won a UEFA Cup, a European Cup, 2 League Cups, 2 FA Cups and 2 Super Cups. Just one trophy is missing...

7. Comeback Kings

Liverpool are famous for their comebacks, and recent seasons have proved that The Reds are the kings of the comeback. From the thrilling 2-1 FA Cup final win against Arsenal in 2001 to the amazing 'Gerrard Final' in 2006 (and not forgetting Istanbul); fans are always kept on the edge of their seats.

6. The Kop

A stand that I am proud to say I have sat in, it is the shrine for all Liverpool fans. The Kop has been called upon many times to inspire The Reds and leave opposing teams in awe.

5. Fernando Torres

This man has the potential to be up there with the likes of Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish in the goalscoring stakes. His pace, strength, skill and ability to score breathtaking goals have made him a darling with The Kop.

4. Scousers

Curly afro wigs, moustaches, 'calm down, calm down' and their unique sense of humour. Not forgetting The Beatles, Mel C and Atomic Kitten! I love Scousers.

3. Steven Gerrard

A Liverpool-born legend. This man can take a game by the scruff of its neck and transform a losing situation into a winning one. He has done it so many times in the past and he still continues to do so. The complete midfielder, and one of the best in the world. Thank God he plays for Liverpool!

2. You'll Never Walk Alone

This song sends shivers down my spine everytime I hear it. The fans of the 1960s are to thank for making this Gerry and the Pacemakers song a resounding and timeless anthem.

1. Michael Owen

I have to admit, he was the reason I started to support Liverpool because I fancied him! Obviously I am not so shallow anymore but I will be forever grateful for his youthful good looks, for it was the start of my love affair with Liverpool FC.
