Marwa Amini, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior Affairs told Khaama Press that two individuals have been arrested in a murder allegation in Kabul city. The case is under police investigation, Marwa Amini said, but she did not provide further details.
“Sayed Chaman, the house owner, and his wife visited their rented property in Bibi Ruqia Street of District 10 in Kabul city, to collect the house rent”, an eyewitness said to Khaama Press.
The tenant first injured Sayed Chaman – the house owner – with a knife, and then shot him with a gun in the mouth and shoulder, the witness said.
“The house owner’s wife seized the knife from the tenant, but he – the tenant – called his wife to bring him the pistol”, the witness added.
The motive behind this murder is said to be poverty, as the tenant was not able to pay the house rent for a couple of months, an elder living in the neighborhood said.
The tenant was jobless and sometimes used to sell things on the streets, he said.
