Mark Scholz, MD, comments on a segment of Lawrence Klotz's presentation concerning the "grey zone" wherein there is no unequivocal answer about whether a man's prostate cancer should be treated or observed. Dr. Klotz speaks on new research that shrinks the grey zone and Dr. Scholz explains how doctors who are trained to treat cancer (e.g. surgeons, radiation oncologists) will default to treatment when a case is in the grey zone. Dr. Scholz argues that patients should be educating themselves and making decisions for themselves about treatment when their case is in the grey zone.
